Arike Ogunbowale

Arike is an American basketball player that is a member of the Dallas Wings, a team that is part of the Women's National Basketball Association. Her name was chosen as the 5th overall selection during the 2019 WNBA Draft by the Dallas Wings. Arike Ogunbowale, was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin on March 2 1997. She is the daughter of Yolanda Ogunbowale and Gregory Ogunbowale. She has two brothers Mario (26 and 26 years older) and Dare Ogunbowale (20 years old). The parents of her were the ones who spoilt her most because she was the most young. Gregory's father was in the Nigerian Army. Ogunbowale's parents are a group with ties to the sports world. Her brother Dare is a player in the NFL and her mother Yolanda was a softball player at DePaul. Her aunt was a volleyball player at UAPB as was she has a cousin named Endia Oliver plays volleyball on the field at Tennessee State. Ogunbowale has been on the school honour roll for three years in a row. Ogunbowale has also received numerous awards and received notoriety and praise throughout her high school years. Arike graduated from high school education with Divine Savior Holy Angels High School, located in her home town. She was a varsity player for three seasons while she studied there. Ogunbowale's extraordinary abilities helped the school winning spectacular victories multiple times. Her high school experience was complete with 73 wins with 1,477 points in her career and 739 career rebound. Ogunbowale participated for her first 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship and 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championship where she won gold medals. She was named the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team 7 July 2014. Ogunbowale is also named to be part of the ACC All-Freshman Team for her first collegiate campaign. Although still a newbie Ogunbowale has established herself as an exceptional basketball star and is sure to continue on her path.
